A company name is only part of the picture.

Registering a business at Companies House does not give you registered trade mark protection. A domain name or social media handle is not a trade mark clearance check either.

A professional assessment can help identify relevant earlier rights before you commit to branding, packaging or launch. Registration can strengthen your ability to protect a distinctive name or logo in the territories and goods or services covered.

Common questions

Before you enquire.

Does company registration protect my brand?

Companies House registration is separate from trade mark registration. Earlier registered marks and unregistered rights may still affect your proposed name. A search and assessment can help you understand the position.

Does a UK trade mark cover the EU?

No. UK trade mark protection and EU trade mark protection are separate. Tell us where you plan to trade so we can discuss suitable filing options.

What is included in the free introductory consultation?

A discussion of your needs and appropriate next steps. It does not include a clearance search, a legal risk opinion or specification drafting. Any substantive work requires agreed scope and fees.

Is registration or availability guaranteed?

No. Search results and applications require assessment, and applications may face objections or opposition. An enquiry or introductory consultation does not confirm that a name is available or safe to use.
